Find A Color’s Name, Hexadecimal and RGB Value

Name that Color is a great tool for website designers and graphic artists who need to know a a color’s Hexadecimal or RGB value on the fly. If you’re anything like me, you want to know a color code fast… and there’s no way to have the values memorized (besides black and white). Unlike standard hexadecimal charts out there, Name that Color has provided an interactive color wheel, much like one you would find in Photoshop. Just drag your mouse to the color you want to know about and it instantly generates the code, RGB value and a color’s name.

I have to say that I had NO idea there were so many names for colors. Makes me wonder who came up with all of them! This also may make a good name bank to borrow from if you want to tie in a character or place name with a lesser-known hue in your writing?

At school some teacher told me that there are more than 4 million colours that our eyes can see, and that each colour had its own name! :|
Anyway, thnx for the tip! It might come in handy, but I think I’m going to stick with Illustartor and/or Photoshop! ;)

4 million colors? Now that was something I didn’t know. Wow. I had no idea there were so many colors with names.

This site is funny because it lets me make fun of Shirley. According to this, mauve is pink-ish. *sniggers*

Hahaha! The funny thing was… I thought about Kip, too, when I saw mauve. He’ll still argue to the end with his last breath. You know that, right? XD
