Handcrafted Goods for Video Game Geeks

When I was very young, I would sometimes stay over at my aunt and uncle’s house on summer days. And my aunt would teach me how to cross stitch. She was incredible at handcrafted arts — a woman who made sprawling stitched scenery for house decor… a well as adorable cartoon character hang-ups and pillows for us kids. Though I was never nearly as good at counted cross stitch as she was, I still enjoy picking up a stitch kit from time to time.

I initially ran across the Sprite Stitch blog because of their post on Final Fantasy IV sprite patterns (you know me, anything FFIV related, I have to stick my nose into). When I started to browse the blog, however, I was charmed and amused by the extent of wonderful old skool work that can be found there. From Zelda to Tetris to Moogles and Mario… there are simply a lot of wonderful craft ideas for handcrafting gamer geeks to enjoy.

And even if you’re not a big handcrafting buff, I think old-skool gamers will find a lot of neat things anyhow!
